En route, there is a local community popular for making local drums and crafts and a fruit market. Stopover, admire and buy yourself souvenirs. Proceed to the Equator line taken as one beautiful scenery in Africa - the pathway of the sun and take photographs.

Pass by mountains, tropical rainforest and bamboo forest during the nine-hour journey.

The drive to the mountain gorilla sanctuary is over 7 hours from Entebbe or Kampala, most of the time on smooth-surfaced road with about 45 minutes of dusty murram. You could choose to fly to Bwindi if you don't feel like driving. One way flights range from 280$-360$ pp.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today enjoy gorilla tracking in Bwindi.

After breakfast, proceed for the morning briefing before enjoying the highlight of the trip - gorilla trekking, which may last the entire day. We trek the gorillas through the rainforest and bamboo covered slopes, accompanied by a guide and gorilla trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. When the gorillas are sighted, visitors will be guided to within 6 metres from the gorillas, sit around them for a whole hour while gazing into their big round eyes.

Gorilla trekking is unpredictable. It's difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike. The gorilla tracking excursion can take from 2 up to 8 hours. Expect to walk along distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. A good physical condition is recommended. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. A ranger will brief you on how to behave with the gorillas.

While most of today's forests are no more than 12,000 years old, Bwindi's vegetation has been weaving itself into tangles over at least 25,000 years, in the process accumulating a lengthy species list. This includes 310 species of butterfly, 51 reptiles, 200 trees, 88 moths and an exceptional 120 types of mammal including 10 primates. The latter includes chimpanzee, L'Hoest's, red-tailed and blue monkey, black and white colobus, baboon, and Bwindi's most famous resident, the mountain gorilla.

Bwindi is a prime destination for birdwatchers. Its 350 species include seven which are IUCN red data listed and 90% of all Albertine rift endemics, species which are difficult or impossible to see in any other part of East Africa.

Day 4: Full day game drives in Maasai Mara National Reserve

Today you will have a full day of game drives ahead. Before sunrise, you will try to spot different predators that might made a kill last night. You will return for breakfast at the camp while the sun rises over the game reserve.

You can decide to take a packed lunch for a full day game drives or come back at the camp for a hot lunch. The secret on sighting a lot of animals is to do different game drives on different time and areas for the highest success rate. Large prides of lions, cheetah, leopard, jackals, elephant, giraffe, African buffalo, eland, ostrich, bat-eared fox, jackal and black rhino are some of the animals you may spot as you drive around.

After this exciting day you will come back to the camp where you can relax with a cold drink on your veranda with a view of the Mara river!

Overnight at your Camp or lodge.

Day 5: Maasai Mara - Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you enjoy a game drive before driving to Lake Nakuru National Park, across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, in the rift valley's most famous lake Nakuru. Known all over the world for its flamingos, it's alkaline and is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harbouring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingoes, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2million flamingoes in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lake shore.

Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive.

Dinner and overnight. Possibility to upgrade to more luxurious accommodation (at an extra cost) or downgrade to more economic options (price reduction).

Day 6:Explore Lake Nakuru National Park - Lake Naivasha

An early morning game drive before breakfast to try to find leopard which is frequently sighted in Lake Nakuru Park and return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you will take a further drive to seek out the 2 species of rhino found in the park, returning before we continue driving to Lake Naivasha.

Lake Naivasha is one of the primary drinking holes for buffalos, zebras, elands, impalas, waterbucks and other grazers, as well as a favorite place for hippos to cool themselves during the day. Take a night game drive on one of the surrounding private conservancies like Loldia and Oserian, and you will see these incredible animals slowly emerge from their wallowing sites in the lake to grass along the shores.

With more than 450 avian species, Lake Naivasha is a world-class destination in Kenya for birding travelers. Resident species are recorded year-round while migratory species can be seen from October through March. A good concentration of the avifauna is long-tailed and great cormorants, as well as pink-backed pelicans. Soaring high in the cliffs around the lake, though, are some of the most iconic African birds – fish eagles. These magnificent raptor creatures perch on the trees around the lake to watch for prey fish just below the surface. Once a fish is located, the fish eagle spreads its powerful four to six-foot black wings and skillfully grasps the fish with its talons. If the fish is especially large, you may see the fish eagle drag the fish across the surface of the water or even land in the water and paddle to shore. Fish eagles, owls and other birds of prey also prey on hatched crocodiles, flamingos, turtles, rock hyraxes, and other small animals, and they are also known for stealing food from other birds, such as goliath herons.

Within the acacia woodlands, you may see giraffes, colobus and vervet monkeys, bushbaby and other forest-dwellers, and the elusive leopard is also known to prowl for prey around Lake Naivasha. The most distinct way to see Lake Naivasha is on a boating excursion. These excursions get you right in the middle of all of the action on the lake, and we can arrange in the morning or afternoon for your boating tour of one of Kenya’s most beautiful Great Rift Valley lake. AfricanMecca also recommends a nature walk so that you may have an up-close-and-personal experience with the smaller life forms of Naivasha, as well as forest, plains and lake fauna. Walks can be arranged on Crescent Island and private conservancies like Oserian and Loldia, and you may want to incorporate a bush picnic into your outing. On the conservancies, you may also partake of day and night game drives, and we recommend a game drive before dinner to see nocturnal fauna like long-tailed mongooses, eagle owls, bat-eared foxes, nightjars and other wildlife that display unique behaviors as the sunsets.

Day 7: Lake Naivasha to Mombasa Beaches (via Nairobi)

Enjoy the sunrise and breakfast at the lodge before being transferred to Nairobi for your flight to Mombasa with a stop by Hell's Gate. The park, which is mainly, comprised of savannah ecosystem harbours a wide variety of wildlife. There are over 100 species of birds in the park, including vultures, Verreaux's Eagles, augur buzzard and swifts. African buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest, Thomson's gazelle, and baboons are also common. The park is also home to klipspringer antelope.

Lunch shall be en-route and in the afternoon flight from Nairobi to Mombasa.

Day 7 & 8: Holiday on Beaches in Mombasa

Take a deep breath and pamper yourself with a relaxing stay at the beach: a quiet place, of crystalline turquoise water, white sand and huge seashore with only the noise of the sea and the gulls in the background. This place has become popular for its exotic beaches, diverse marine life, world-class hotels and friendly people. Nightlife is always exciting, and the City offers many dance clubs and casinos that cater to a variety of entertainment tastes.

Day 9 Relax in Mombasa, Departure back home.

You can spend the last hours of your journey to relax. After you will have a transfer to Mombasa airport for domestic flight back to Nairobi.
