The following tours and safari packages allow you to track the mountain gorillas in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Natio nal Park, trekking chimpanzees in Kibale National Park or Budongo or Ngamba Island, and over 12 other monkey species in Uganda's National Parks. You also have the opportunity to go for wildlife safari in game parks of Uganda to see lions, leopard, lions, elephant, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, etc. .
Lake Mburo National Park habours several species not observed elsewhere in Uganda. It is the only place in Uganda to support a population of impala (from which Kampala city derives its name), and only one of the three protected areas countrywide where Burchell's zebra occurs, the other two being the far less accessible Kidepo and Pian-Upe. Other antelopes easily seen are topi, bushbuck, common duiker, oribi, Defassa waterbuck and Bofor reedbuck, while the lake and lush fringing vegetaion support healthy populations of buffalo, warthog, bush-pig and hippopotamus. Large herds of the majestic eland keep roaming the park. The sitatunga confines itself to the swampy areas of the park. Only two diurnal primates occur in Lake Mburo: the vervet monkey and olive baboon. Nocturnal calls of the spotted hyena can be heard through the night. Leopard, side-striped jackal and various smaller predators are also present, most visibly the white-tailed mongoose and three otter species resident in
 Kibale National park, which averages about 3,300 feet in elevation, is an extension of the great rainforests of central Africa. It is inhabited by three large “communities” of chimps, each numbering more than 100 individuals. Each community has a complicated social structure. The big adult males dominate the group and defend the community territory against incursions by male outsiders; the females usually wander in small family groups.
Typically, we locate the chimps by listening for their pant-hooting calls, then hustle to the area from which they are calling. We get to observe them as they feed in fruiting trees, lounge, and socialize with each other, or even, occasionally hunt.

Mt. Elgon is a 4,321m high extinct volcano which a million years ago stood taller than Kilimanjaro does today. Although the mountain straddles the Uganda-Kenya border, its loftiest peak, Wagagai, lies within Uganda.Mt. Elgon was declared a National Park in 1993 and was approved as a UNESCO Man and Biodiversity Reserve in 2005. Elgon's slopes support a rich variety of vegetation ranging from montane forest to high open moorland studded with lobelia and groundsels. The vegetation varies with altitude.
Traditionally, the most popular destination in the Mount Elgon area is Sipi Falls, which also offers a good range of accommodation for all budgets and several day walking possibilities outside the national park. The Mount Elgon Exploration center at Kapkwai is however, a more worthwhile goal for those with a strong interest in natural history, but also more costly as park visitation fees must be paid.

Murchison Falls National Park is the largest in Uganda at 3840 square kilometres. Here is the awe inspiring Murchison Falls where the River Nile hurls itself in convulsions through a narrow crevice and then plunges 40 metres in one breathtaking leap. The park has a variety of vegetation ranging from riparian forests and swamp lands to broad savannah, and provides visitors the opportunity of seeing large concentrations of wildlife including lion, leopard, civet, hyena, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, a host of smaller game, small primates and many bird species, including the rare shoebill stork. The Rwenzori Mountains popularly referred to as “Mountains of the Moon” are permanently snow-capped peaks that offer great trekking experiences for Mountain climbers. The Rwenzori Mountains lie along the western border of Uganda and rise to a height of 5,100 metres.
Rwenzori is the highest mountain range in Africa with the highest peaks; Margherita (5,109m) and Alexandra (5083m) on Mount Stanley. These are exceeded in altitude elsewhere in Africa only by Mt.
