We could choose any arrival and... read more departure dates. Our itinerary (28 pages) was made according to our wishes, very active from the first day onwards. Everything worked: accommodation, schedules and local rangers. We must praise our guide Ahmed Kizza, who was superb: knowing everyone, meticulous, knowledgeful and a master of 4x4 driving. Our circular trip started in Entebbe and then we drove to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchinson Falls NP, Kibale NP, Queen Elizabeth NP, Maramagambo Forest, Bwindi NP, Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Mburo and ended back in Entebbe. I estimate we covered more than 2.000km so count on many hours on roads that sometimes don't deserve a name. In addition to the standard activities, don't miss mongoose tracking.

  We enquired about this trip 2 years ago, almost booked it but had to postpone. In November 2022, we were finally in Uganda to make our dream come true! We... read more went for a chimpanzee tracking in Kibale and gorilla tracking in Bwindi as well as a safari in the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The chimp tracking was a very sporty experience and we didn't imagine we would almost have to run to be able to follow the chimp family when they finally went down from the trees.
The gorilla trekking was short and successful. The road from the hotel (1 hour drive) to the park entrance had suffered the heavy rains as the rainy season was not over. A truck stuck in the middle of the road delayed our arrival at the park. Other tourists were in the same situation so they joined us for the activity and we got assigned a family of gorillas that had been spotted not so far from the entrance. We reached them after a 1hour 30min walk and stayed with them for 40minutes as it started to heavy rain and the gorillas were just sitting quietly. It was a great moment!
As it was raining a lot, we could not make the most of our safari in the Queen Elizabeth NP. The best part was the Ishasha sector where we spotted a tree climbing lion asleep. This area is quite complicated when it rains as it tends to become very muddy and if you get stuck, they have to call for help from the rangers or military forces to get the 4x4 out of it! We were lucky, it was not our vehicle that got stuck this time!
All the accommodations selected were nice. We especially loved the Isunga lodge (Kibale) with its wonderful view, nice owners, the impeccable service and customer friendly attitude from the staff, the delicious and abundant food, the choice of local craft beers!
Our guide was Eric, a guy that is not so talkative, quite serious but who is definitely a good driver and has a good knowledge about his country.
Our contact at the agency in Entebbe was Ivan Wassaka. The communication has always been smooth, he has been very flexible and always answered our questions and doubts.
